Last week, California State University, Long Beach announced that its fall semester will be conducted primarily through remote instruction. This announcement may affect the Carpenter Center’s ability to host large events into the fall season, which traditionally begins in September. We are working closely with our artists, resident companies, and the university to determine when we can announce upcoming performances. For now, we will continue to do our part to ensure the health and safety of our community, and look forward to reopening when we’re able to provide a safe environment for our patrons, our artists, crew, and staff.
Though our doors are temporarily closed, I know that the Carpenter Center is much more than a building. We are a resilient community of engaged, arts-minded fans of the performing arts. Please know that the Carpenter Center is pursuing original, first-class entertainment that we can experience together online and in other creative ways.
