Today we honor the legacy of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez. In the 1960s, after a series of successful nonviolent boycotts, strikes, and a 300-mile march, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, along with Larry Itliong, merged their workers’ rights organizations into the present-day United Farm Workers of America.
